“Disregard the luck rating, there were two disconnects, the first after 10 turns with my luck at 57% and my opponent's at 75%!!!

The first half was a slow boring match for the specs, with the Wooden Wimps scoring easily, then the Boyz taking the full rest of the half to score after building a huge cage and slowly advancing it up field.

In the second half, the Boyz played hurry up offence, hoping to pressure the Wimps in defence and scored about half way into the second period. The Wimps pushed forwards, with only one player in scoring distance with the other tripping over a blade of grass on his way downfield.

Grok Ironfist had the job of sweeping onto the lone catcher but only managed to push him onto the sidelines (2 dice, rerolled, just pushes). The Boyz looked certain to concede a score as one Nerves of Steel Catcher with the ball ran right up close to pass to the one on the sidelines, but Grok made up for his poor blocking by making a very unlikely interception!

Grok pushed the Catcher out of bounds and ran upfield towards a mob of his team mates. The Wimps knocked the ball free, but there were too many Boyz around it for them to recover it themselves and the Boyz were able to push the ball deep with support to win the match before the Wimps came back with a late (one turn) reply.

A fun match. I chose to cage conservatively rather than string out my players and try to hit his players. I figured it would not make that much difference as he had two one turners and a lot of Nerves of Steel on the pitch as well as AG5.

So in the end, I was very lucky to win as without the intercept, it was likely going to be a 2-2 game.”
