“Our undead have spent excess money (the bank account was at 220k with no players left to buy) by hiring Count von Drakenborg... and we now face Jaim's 15 'zons plus Buffy- I mean Zara- the Slayer! Should be a game for the fans to remember!

And their fans let us know they mean BUSINESS at kick off when a rock is 'thrown' by some sort of catapult... absolutely DESTROYING one of our zombies on the LOS! On turn 2 Zara's blitz badly hurts a mummy - no regen. Ouch! We then start causing some damage, badly hurting a blitzer with a DP foul, and then knocking the ball free with our tackle ghoul. But a good turn 5 sees them frenzy push the tackler out of the way, recover the ball and run in a touchdown.

Terrible news for the zons however- the ref (total coincidence he's a thrall) - has banned Zara for her stakes!!

And our first turn with the ball is a brutal one, a LOS linezon -STR'd, one of their blitzers MNG'd (apo fail) with a tackle blitz, and finally a gang foul killing another linezon (though that's one of our DPs sent off now). Nasty!

And with that massive number advantage we're easily able to push forwards, maximising our tackles and blocks, and eventually putting two blodge ghouls through as receivers on turn 7. Without any tacklers on the team they are hard pushed to knock them down or mark them well and we're able to use the count's gaze to free one - he catches the handoff and runs in the 1-1 equaliser!

Despite the damage their deep roster means they still have 11 for the second half. We start things off with a gang DP foul that badly hurts a linezon- but they counter with a blitz that KILLS one of our blodge ghouls! But we're able to push forwards, systematically taking the girls out with our 3 block/tackle players, and eventually getting the ball through with our speedy AGI 4 ghoul. A fantastic turn of dodging from the zons lets them get players back, blitz over our ghoul despite the tackle wight standing next to him, then dodge away and recover the ball! We're able to get it back but decide to score immediately before they turn it around again.

They have 3 turns to try and equalise but only 8 players to do it with. And with so few we're able to make it extremely difficult for them, as they need to dodge receivers through and try and keep the ball carrier safe. We can't get a tackler on the ball (they've just badly hurt one of our wights) but the count can get a 3dice blitz in and we get the POW we need! Our super-ghoul is there to recover again and their blitz attempt on him is foiled by several GFI 1s, letting us score a 3rd on our last turn.

Good game Jaim- losing Zara so early really gifted it to us!”
