“I expected the match to go this way, as my opponent was up on my 12/11 points in TR/SR. His 5 guards trumped my 2 guards
The turning point in the game was me rerolling a block (to get a push or knockdown) and it coming up double skulls. This allowed the Big hammers to break free for their winning TD. Though he didn't score for 3 more turns, I knew at the time that that was the critical block
I could have scored myself, but, because I had used my RR for the turn, I did not gfi with my runner breaking for the EZ. The Hammers were able to capitalize on this by knocking down (and stunning) the runner..and he had 4 GFI's to do with no re-rolls.. ah well..
Still a good game against a good coach.
(and who says dwarf vs dwarf is no fun...just because we didn't score 10 times doesn't mean the game wasn't fun...I guess that is why I play dwarves...I like playing the slow, grind it out, defensive game.”
