“UI V Qualifier: Jade Lantern First Round

The humans decided to hire the count and a wiz for this game, with the dwarves deciding to save their cash.

The game got off to an interesting start with the dwarves receiving the kick they caused a mng with the second block of the game, then proceeded to quad skull their next block! I was able to rush forward and pressure the ball. Although the dwarves managed to cage up the count was able to sneak in and 2db pow the ball. The scatter fell nicely outside the cage and with a 4+ pickup i was able to handoff to an advanced blitzer to take an early lead.

Dwarves again start their drive and i managed to pressurise the ball. with the wizard waiting the dwarves decided to take the early score to equalise. This left me a few turns to equalise, but the drive didn't start too well and my catcher ended up pinned to the sidelines as the count was fouled out(regen'd though :)). with a -2db push i was luckily able to escape and rush forward to score the TD and take a 2-1 lead into the 2nd half.

The humans were aiming for a quick score at the start of the 2nd half to secure the win but the dwarves managed to get a numbers advantage. With the human apo failing. Soon enough the superior speed of the humans shone through as I managed to dash a catcher down a flank and into space. A single dwarf did manage to catch him but with no support the humans were able to score the following turn to go 3-1 up with only a few turns left.

As the game was coming to a conclusion it became apparent the dwarves did not have enough time to score the 2 required TDs so the humans backed off, however they still wanted to stop the dwarves scoring so stood firm in two lines on the goal line. Unfortunately, with the last blitz ofthe game, this cost the humans a niggle on their best blitzer, totalling 3 players missing the next game :/
