The lads were on good form tonight, in general, although especially the start seemed a bit morose. Laughter Magic put up a good fight, but the Stoppers had the will to win that would not be denied.

First half started on defense. The lads were obviously a bit distracted in the start, and the humans wasted no time in taking the lead. Right, boys, time to wake up and get your head in the game! And the Magic manage to Blitz the oblivious Stoppers, a catcher grabbing the kick out of the air! That, if anything in this game, calls for a change of plan. We managed to bog them down, everyone guarding each other's back, and after a bit of a struggle managed to secure the ball and send the Runner upfield while the others kept the Magic busy elsewhere. Haldan brought home the touchdown with just enough time for a kick-off and a few moments of pushing and shoving.

Second half was our turn to drive. Haldan was left deep to receive the kick, while the rest lined up all ready to tear into the human defenses. They were obviously expecting just that, and just when our lads had found their positions, the Magic tore it all up with fierce blocking. Haldan had nowhere to run safely, so any tactics that were planned went right into the rubbish. It was hard to know who was winning the struggle, flowing along the Line of Scrimmage, but somehow our boys managed to clear a path for Haldan, who wasted no time and made a run for it. He got halfway down their side before the Magic blitzers caught up to him and took him down, Raoul Duke sneaking in to pick up the ball. It was touch and go there for a minute, and it looked like a sure win for the humans, but Duke fumbled the crucial pass! Quickly the Stoppers scrambled to catch up to the Thrower, and Haldan and Fundin took care of him while the others struggled to keep the humans away. After a few more moments of struggling, Fundin picked up the ball and headed for the end zone. The Magic had run out of tricks to play by now, and so, in the very nick of time, Fundin ran in the TD, securing the win for the Stoppers.

It was good to see the team getting back on their feet so quickly after the twin tragedies of Halfor and Nali, despite the sluggish start, instead of sinking into a well of grief. And what better way to honour the fallen brothers who gave their lives for the team than to keep fighting the good fight, and keep winning games?
