“It is with some trepidation that Brewin led his motley crew of homeless rats onto the (unofficial) BBQL field for the first time. The sense of the occasion weighed upon his mind heavily. Not only was this to be his team's first game in the BBQL, but it was to be against Wrekage Ratz, who were coached by Ergukrael, one of his main Skaven rivals...

The Snipers received at the start of the game but ended the first turn badly... Gutsy, seeking to emulate the bold runs he made during his academy matches, grabbed the ball and bolted down the sideline for the end zone. He was abruptly knocked into the crowd, ending up in hospital with his injuries soon after. Snipers had lost the ball and were one down already.

This seemed to inspire the Snipers to pick their game up: they weren't in the Academy any more! The Snipers regained the ball next turn and scored. And although the Wrekage Ratz promptly scored back to equalise, they were losing the physical contest and were down players. Nuffle also seemed to abandon the Wrekage Ratz from there on as they fumbled, tripped and got thumped; even a failed go for it deprived the Wrekage Ratz of a chance to score! The first half ended 2-1 in the Snipers favor, who scored again in the second half (and threatened to score another) to close out the game 3-1. -Shadow proved that he wasn't just a fluke in the Academy with two touchdowns.

The game ended in a massive brawl between the two teams that left two Storm Vermin dead (one from either side). It happened when Stormin', a blitzer for the Snipers, grabbed Bilgewaste (also a blitzer) from behind and smashed his skull against a metal post on the edge of the sidelines. Scuppers, fellow blitzer on Ergukrael's team, was standing next to Bilgewaste and took instant revenge: splitting Stormin's head asunder. With two blitzers dead in the blink of an eye, the tension exploded as teams and fans alike began to fight, resulting in numerous additional deaths in the crowd...

It was sometime after this that this report was posted due to the game reporters on the field being among those seriously injured.”
