“In an instant re-match against the Khorne Brawlers, this time with Regin on the active roster, the boys gave the demons a real fight, making them pay for every inch of ground. This time, however, a few of the boys had had some overly stale beer or something, and weren't in full form because of it. This gave us a bit of trouble, not knowing when the lads had to run off to the restroom.
But when the full team was on the pitch, the cursed ones had their hands full, and their medical staff quite busy enough. For a long time it looked like it could go either way, but eventually the Brawlers got the upper hand, mainly thanks to their deeper ranks, securing them a 1-0 lead in the end of the period.
The second half was our turn to drive, but just as we were about to kick off, the crowd invaded the pitch, and mugged a good number of players, including Regin and Bombur, but most importantly 5 of the demons were left stunned on the grass as we started our attack. Thorin had been on the can for the whole first half, but now he was on the pitch, and more than ready to get things rolling, which he promptly did by by sending a greater demon to the hospital. Things looked good for us for a while, but in the crucial moment the Brawlers mustered their strength and once again stole the ball to secure the victory. There was no stalling to be done for them, as they only had 5 players left on the pitch, so there was just enough time to deal out a little punishment before the time ran out, though nothing noteworthy came of it.
While the Stoppers were on average the better team this time around, Nuffle favoured the demons when it counted most, resulting in the numbers above. There's only so much you can do shorthanded, as was once again demonstrated. Thankfully, our share of the gate purse was enough that we could sort out a new blitzer to take Dvalad's place at Nyrath's side.”
