“Won't be a detailed match report per my norm. There were lots of connection issues this game, and the Replay only shows the last turn or two. My memory is horrible, and I won't be able to recall everything. Anyway...here we go.
The Lizards, just after going through a killer chaos team and then a bashing orc squad were relieved when the gamefinder suggested a high elf team to them. This was just what the Lizards wanted with two of their team out for the match.
I should have lost...horribly, but Goblinen's dice were broken.
Just before the game, the Lizards were poisoned by Morleys Revenge. It was a weak dose, and only the Papa Lizard was struck...and he never missed out a single drive. The Lizards had been blessed by Nuffle yet again.
The Lizards also won the coin toss, and chose to receive first. In the opening assault, the Lizards managed to knock out two elves. The ball was brought forwards, and lizards moved to protect the ball carrier.
The half pushed on. The Lizards managed to badly hurt several elves, and knock out several more, while elves only managed to knock out a single lizard. The elves were plagued with bad dodge dice. Lots of snake eyes showed up. And it seemed whenever a 2 was rolled, it was when a elf was dodging away from the Papa Lizard, or into a TZ.
As if the bad dice for the elves was enough, the Lizards had great dice. Around T5, the elves agi5, leap, strip baller broke the cage. The ball bounced out... into the arms of a saurus who caught it! The saurus quickly moved in between two guard saurus...the stip baller would have to go -2 die if he wanted to break the ball out this time! And -2 die he did.
The first block showed double skulls, but the next showed push and pow (if only the skulls had been split between the blocks...but I shouldn't complain about any good dice Goblinen got.) The ball bounced between two lizards, and the elves were unable to get at the ball, however. The Lizards picked up the ball, beat down the standing elves and stalled it out until T8.
Second half started, but the Anno 1632's only +str elf was knocked out.
The elves pushed the ball down the field, planning on scoring early. The Lizards got two skinks on the ball carrier, one with diving tackle. More elves fell. The elves moved...but rolled snakes on a dodge! The Ball popped loose in a blitz, and the Lizards moved to get the ball. The ball carrier ran next to an elf to allow the Papa Lizard to multiblock. He had only ever succeeded in multiblocking once. He'd also failed three multiblocks, bone headed one two and rolled pushback on another. He was due to roll some good dice! Not today, however. He failed his bonehead, leaving the ball carrier by a elf.
The ball fell out, and the elves quickly grabbed the ball, threw it down field and they scored.
Now the elves had tied the game, but the lizards were receiving.
The lizards got the ball without much trouble, and moved it down field. The elves used their strip baller to pop the ball out, but due to more bad luck the ball stayed on the ground. Each turn, the elves got the ball out, and each turn the lizards picked the ball back up. On T7 of the second half, the lizards decided to make a break for the endzone...but the ball was to slippery to be picked up! There was one skink in ranged of scoring the game winning TD in the last turn, but he was knocked out in a elven blitz. The game ended with a tie. The Lizards brought in no money, but they didn't need any.
The Fourth Angriest Lizards skilled up for a 5th time...and didn't age! He now has mighty blow, the second lizard on the team after the Papa Lizard to have that skill. May the pitch be filled with rivers of his opponents blood!
Goblinen, it was a good and fun game. Your dice were awful, and you should have easily won. Rematch anytime.”
