“Our necros face Zuul's 10-man high elf team. They have 3 dodgers (we've no tackler yet) and a +STR so this could be difficult for us if we can't remove some more of their players. On the other hand they have no blitzers so only have one player with block.
And in fact they burn up both rerolls by turn 2- as they try and chain push a ghoul out with a series of 1d blocks. When it fails it means our flesh golem can throw their catcher holding the ball out of the pitch. We snatch the ball after a bit of back-n-forth and run it upfield in a rookie ghoul's hands. Twice they have decent 2d blitz attempts and twice they fail the final GFI! On turn 7 we gang foul their +STR lineman for a MNG and then on turn 8 run in the touchdown.
With each team getting 1 of 2 KOs back we have 11 vs 8 for the 2nd half. We quickly KO another one with a foul and mark all their players. They try to dodge a catcher past a zombie into our backfield, but he trips over KILLING himself!! The apo is quickly called to save him. They are now going for crazy elf-blitzes, trying for -2 dodges to blitz at the ball, managing to KO our rookie ghoul with the ball at one point. More often than not though they are knocking themselves out and causing immediate turnovers. We handoff the ball to our flesh golem on 15 SPPs and move him upfield. At this stage they decide not to stand up any players for 2 turns until we run in the TD.
With two turns left they would have a decent chance of getting one back if it wasn't for the blizzard- which prevents them from passing the ball from where it landed in their endzone to their waiting catcher at the half way line. We rush a couple ghouls into their endzone while trying mark or knock down all their catchers. On their turn they pass to an elf in a tackle zone who could dodge through and handoff to another one in range of the endzone.. but he trips over! We manage to pick up with a wight, pass to our ghoul in range and GFI twice (in the snow with our RR used up) to make it 3-0!
