I received the opening kick off, only to have a Blitz pop up on the kick off. Da Prettiest had a good wedge deep into my territory before I had made a move, with a good chunk of my team man-marked. In desperation, I attempted to move the ball from one side of the field to the other. One pick up, one throw, one catch, all done by beastmen. All succeeded, with no rerolls.

That basically set the tone for the game. Da Prettiest usually held better field position and were able to bash at will. On the other hand, my beastmen were practically elves, passing, dodging, running wild. I was having better results with 1d blocks than with 2d: more often than not, a 1d block would result in a knockdown.

Both teams managed to score in the 1st half. The 2nd half was a brawl from the word go. Da Prettiest got close to scoring at the end of the half, but the ball got punched loose, after some scrambling the orcs managed to pick it up, but fumbled a pass. After that, there was a lot fo posturing around the ball, but not much else.

Overall, good game against a thoughtful coach. I feel fortunate that I was able to pull off the tie. ”
