“Things started out badly for the Techies of KAMU. 1st, the opposing coach hired Nobla AFTER agreeing to play..been nice if he'd told me he was going to do that...not that it mattered that much, as I did see the dirty goblin before he started the chainsaw. Nobbla did manage to kill my str 4 longbeard...oh, well, shit happens. I just wish coaches would be a sportsman and tell their oppenet before buying a start (and in tabletop, you get the chance to buy your own star at the same time before the game starts.)
Anyway, enough bitching about things that won't change...
1st half was all orcs..the Dwarves were ineffective even when given a chance to do anything. This was a combination of good tatics on my Oppenents part and bad luck on my part (1st foul SI'd a slayer...at least the apoth worked). The Orcs just sat back and bashed the Dwarves until an opening came up and they were able to score. The dwarves were not able to return the score in the 1st half.
The 2nd half was mostly better for the dwarves...started to get some KO's at least (and Nobbla was ejected)
Still, my runner broke free, but was knocked down and stunned (very common occurance now it seems). Fortunately for the dwarves, I was able to recover from that and actually tie the game up.
Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 KO's of the Orcs came back, and I was outnummbered and unable to mount an effective defense against the Orcs 3-turn score to win the game on turn 8.
A good game vs a very good coach. Still, a five game losing streak (with a team that had not lost 2 in a row before this streak started), and a 8 game non-winning streak (no, 9 game now) has gotten me doubting my coaching skills again.”
