“The best match yet for the Bokonon boys, not just because of the win, but because the game itself was an exciting tussle. It could have gone either way, but at the critical moments Nuffle smiled not on Twisted Delight, but on the glorious Bokonon United.

In the first half, the Bokonon boys were happily rolling around in the mud holding their shins, like the girls they are. Then there was a strange light shining from above and a choir of angels sang.

They all got up.
They started to tackle.
They STARTED TO PUT THE HURT ON.

Some excellent set-up play by Twisted Delight was stopped in it's tracks and their slow, rumbling run up the pitch found itself hitting a wall. A desperate T8 TD pass attempt was intercepted by Z.F. Pirate and the first half ended at 0-0, with no Bokonon players off the pitch and 3 of the opposition sipping tea in the KO area.

Surely it couldn't last. Well, second half, returning the kick, a TD went in within the first 3 turns. The opposition coach was doing a sterling job, but some of his players just were not into the game enough. The injured didn't want to man up and get back out there. No! The Twisted Delight KO area has a nice carpet. A sofa. Some tea and scones. Much nicer to stay there and watch the game.

The advantage in numbers was enough to send a man scampering free down the side. Peter C dodged out of a two man wall (with the aid of an excellent push-back blitz from a team-mate) and his pass found hands. 1-0.

Now to defend.

And defend they did. This time around, Twisted Delight were unable to get the ball past the half-way line. Their two-man disadvantage told. The game bogged down into a brutal fist-fight around the LOS. Then, an unfortunate fumble.

The Bokonon boys saw glory. They eyed their opposition, spat out their gum, rolled up their sleeves, and EVERY MAN AND BEAST (bar one) on the opposition team was sat on their arse by the end of the turn. Z.F.Pirate scooped up the ball and pelted it to the TD, pausing only just to throw an easy pass to Whip-Smart Skedoink for the score.

Whip-Smart was starting his first game as a lineman, hit a casualty and scored a TD. He is now CAPTAIN of the glorious BOKONON ROVERS. His drive, his determination, his guts showed the boys what it means to be a BB player. He was even killed in T16, but stood back up, arm hanging off, eye out of his socket. He would not be deafeted. Onwards to glory!

P.S. Eric Stoltz was MVP and has now earned a skill. I am not sure how I feel about this. He was unable to pick the Acting skill, or even Emoting-Just-A-Little, and Clear-Diction is sadly a doubles-only pick.”
