“Very odd game indeed - but fun for it. Two newbie vamp teams going head to head and causing all 61000 fans to fall about laughing with their efforts.
The draw feels like a win given how the game went in the first half, but with the amount of luck on my side in the second period it simultaneously feels a bit like a chance missed.
First half was a tale of dodging like elves, and hitting like halflings for the Suckers - not one dodge attempt even being re-rolled, but nary a pow to be seen, the latter opening up an easy score for Lord Ersai. The lack of hitting power wasn't noticed in some ways though, as the hungry vampires of the Bleeders took out their own thralls (2BH, 1SI).
Funny how when planned 2dbs give you nothing, risky 1dbs to nothing will produce and hitting luck changed dramatically in T8. Everything the Suckers hit went down, and much of it didn't get right back up. Yet more failed OFABs and GFIs eventually opened up a juicy opening for the Suckers to run through - not that their lord and master Leech was paying attention (he spent most of the game lying down in the dugout).
A decision to take the score rather than stall out for a guarunteed draw was based on numbers - the Bleeders had just 4 active, and a max of 7 to recieve the kick. As it was 6 took the field and they proved enough to prevent an unlikely winner.
Good game Manp - was a lot of fun.”
