Helluva game! It has once again been proven that all Jock needs to defend with are a paperclip, rubber band, and a roll of duct tape.

My orcs' attrition game plan worked perfectly, getting the elves down fewer and fewer players each drive until we settled on 5 as a good max. But if there are only 2 guys on the field, Jock still seems to be able to manage a 2db somewhere with them, and scoop the ball back up :)

I lost the ball on my first drive to a -2db cage-busting ball strip (which sounds more painful than it actually is), followed by a long bomb to clear it away from my team. It went back and forth for a while with no further scoring (and more elven ball larceny), until late 2nd half I caught a thrower near my own goal line, in the corner, and rerolled a 2db to knock him not only down, but out. It was my two AG5 blitzers in the area, so between them they executed a long march down the field with the ball to tie the score just as the final whistle for regulation.

Overtime began with me kicking off to 5 elves. I muttered some comment about still not being able to stop him, and it turned out I was right. Now...4 elves stalling is an ugly sight, but I got a front-row view, as not only could I not stop him scoring, I couldn't stop him taking 6 turns to do it in. Boxed up in the corner, Jock just needed a 2db block and follow to score, and a double-skull nearly spoiled the stall, but the reroll gave a knockdown, leaving me 3 turns to answer.

My last drive started with some general flailing around, and an unsuccessful quick pass to get the ball to my faster blitzer. Jock punched a hole in my half-finished cage and came a failed pickup (in 1 TZ) from icing the game. I was able to clear things out on my turn and advance the ball into blitzer range of the goal line. The elves ST catcher made a double-gfi 2db that resulted in a push. My turn 8 started with a ST4 sidestepper right in my path, but it was boxed in by a black orc and one of my blitzers, both of whom could make a 2db on it. The blocks came up POW-less, but I got the catcher out of the way such that I only had to dodge through 1 TZ to make it out (again, AG5 blitzer). I managed to sneak through with a 3+ 2+ and a GFI to tie the game at the last second.

Then a coin flipped and Jock won anyway :)

Grats man, and good luck in the final.
