“My newly minted Dirty Player got some heavy action in his first game as DF (designated fouler) when the opening kickoff was GTR. The game started well for the Apocalypse, with a first-turn foul KOing Sotek's krox, and a couple sauruses followed in the next turns.
There followed a few turns of mostly ineffective play on both sides, with failed dodging, and skull/skull/reroll/skull/skull happening to both players, once on my first block of a turn.
The game really started getting a little out of hand midway into the first half. With a 3-man disadvantage from KOs, Sotek's minions got agressive in attacking the Apocalypse cage, and got one of their sauruses sucked into the middle. The knockdown resulted in a BH, which looked like almost a blessing with 5 guys around and the chaos DP being one of them. In an apparent desperate bid to keep players on the field, the apothecary was called in to "save" the poor saurus. The apo hadn't gotten clear of the field by the time the killing blow came in from the waiting beast DP. Turn 7 for Sotek saw a rerolled 1db both-down a skink trying to make a final bid at the ball carrier, who had block. The cavalry came into mop up the assister and fouled him off with a BH to boot. The ball carrier was then free to score the game's only TD in turn 8.
The second half was less eventful, except for the death of another saurus. The Apocalypse played back some and didn't pressure the ball carrier until he started threatening a score, choosing instead of block off the sideline escape route and trying to surf sauruses (one success, one bid failed my double-skull after a reroll had been used earlier on another skull/skull). The Sotek defense held up though, with a late chaos bid to score spoiled by a nice play to free up a blitzer and knock down my ball carrier. The eventual scrum left a skink with the ball, but not enough time to score with it.
Good game played by Nagao, but just not enough players after some brutal turns of events. Best wishes for his team's recovery. Look me up for a rematch any time.”
