“Tough grind of a game. Couldn't really get anything going for the most part. Didn't earn a single spp until the last player's move of T16, when I picked up a loose ball and scored. My 2 cas were both non-blocking (a foul and a -ma inducing surf), and I couldn't get a whiff of the end zone until the very end. Even that last play of the game, my bull had been knocked down near the goal line and it bounced to a Dutchmen blitzer. My last turn was a block to free up an assister to come over, a blitz from my fallen bull to knock the ball free, and a 3+ pickup without a reroll from a hobbo to bring it in. Not exactly a solid score.

markhorse played a solid game. His scoring drive came in the second half, after a scoreless first. He sent catchers upfield as his thrower chased down a deep kick. I spread my team all over, to mark and brutalize the catchers as best I could (4 fouls all game, 3 KO and just 1 cas), and ran up a bull to press the thrower. He caged up while I kept preventing him getting a receiver free, until on his T5 he cracked the wall I'd formed around his cage, ran a blitzer into the end zone, and dodged his thrower free to throw for the TD.

Sort of a kick in the junk to lose FF anyway after pulling off the last-second tie, but 1's happen. The winnings were enough though to buy my last blocker, finally giving me a "real" CD team. :)”
