“Another Flattering Victory
---------------------------
The Duke's traveled away again in search of spoils and came up trumps against a very game Halfing team. The 2-0 victory doesnt give a true account of the game.
Straight from the kick off the Fried Family formed a 10 man line of scrumage with both Treeman smashing through the Dukes centre field and Fredrick in the pocket, waiting. The Dukes then hammered the outside of the centre line, Van Geiss then knocked Soren on his behined (leaving Soren to the care of the doctors) and applied big pressure on the Halfings play. The mistake came, with Van Geiss making the tackle on the solo back field played he waltzed into the endzone.
The 2nd drive started badly for the Dukes as Gomez was carted off due to a stray rock launched from the crowd. He came back on the field to make a vital hits later on. The kick off for the Stunies was great and there attack built. Two Dukes where smashed into the stands for there pains and seconds later two more Dukes K.O'd on the field of play. Charles handed off to Paul Yards from the endzone, a sure TD, but no, MVP Valderrama, playing as last man, hit Paul hard and pushed him towards the side lines as time ran out for the half.
The 2nd start again badly for the Dukes With Croes fumbling from a good kick off, but he regained his composure enough to charge down the left flank. Good blocking from the Duchies blitzers opend the way ahead, and even a last gasp tackle from the ever reliable Soren and two other along the side line couldnt stop the eventual maul over the line. TD Dukes!
Later in the game the Halfing team then spurned another chance when Charles failed to connect in the endzone with Carl after some super work in the loose from Firefighter.
Where the Dukes lucky? Yes, they left the field with only 6 men standing, but on the bright no long term injuries. A draw would have been a far more deserving score line with KFF having the majority of posession but Dukes taking there chance's. Will Duke luck hold up? Only time will tell.”
