The Nightmares started in offence and almost were a man down early as the Ref called their DP for a foul (stun) but the call was successfully argued.
The Whorf replied with their own foul, SI MNG and the Nightmares used their apothecary to keep numbers up!
A brutal passage of play followed, with a Nightmares Bull Centaur BH, a Whorf Runner BH, a Whorf Blitzer (with Dodge) killed on an OOB play and a Whorf Longbeard (Guard Mighty Blow) killed on a block!
It was 11 vs 8. The Whorf managed to knock the ball loose with a -2D block and Frenzy Follow Up 2 dicer. The Nightmares were in a position to recover it, but failed a 3+ with RR and the ball scattered perfectly (2 squares) towards the Whorf Runner who picked it up and ran for the endzone!
The Nightmares knocked the Runner down, but the Whorf had a chance to score still, needing a 3+ Dodge and 3+ Surehands pickup and GFI, but the dodge was failed!
The Nightmares recovered the ball, but due to coach tiredness, played poorly and put no player in scoring range on T7 and thus ended up having not even an unlikely chance of scoring!
In the second half, it was 9 vs 11 and the Nightmares were able to get the ascendency thanks to some ordinary blocking by the Whorf (lots of Skull + Skull/Pow) and the Nightmares were able to bring their greater numbers to bare and steal the ball and eventually score.
The Whorf did get some measure of revenge though, as they niggled the Nightmares best CD, the same one that caused a BH and RIP so there was some justice there!

Some average play by me today... too tired to play 16 good turns heh. That niggle on me would have been prevented possibly by me bringing in more players on my turn - I did an early block before I stood up and moved other players to negate assists, leaving my opponent with a few easy 2 dicers. Silly me heh.
Oh well, the team may one day have full positionals, but not today heh.
Opponent was a good sport and fun to play against.”
