“The Victors received the first kick off, and avoided a premature sack attempt. However, the ball was passed too early, and Panther was easily able to take the ball from the lone receiver. The Victors couldn't exert enough pressure on Panther to prevent her advancing up the field, and a hand-off to Jaguar gave the Wildcats' their first TD, with only one turn left in the half.
An unhealthy blocking battle developed in the second half. However, the Victors attempts to man-mark blitzers with linemen resulted in two messy casualties. Out-numbered, the elves over-committed to their right flank. With one hand-off, the Wildcats were able to switch play to the other side of the pitch, where they screened Julie from the remaining elves for almost the entire half.
However, one elf lineman had other ideas. Getting to his feet amongst three amazons, Ulsataen dodged free and brought Julie down just two paces away from the end-zone. Unfortunately for the elves, the ball scattered into their end-zone, where it was picked up by Tiger the following turn.
Overall, the elves all-lineman team lacked the pace to make the most of their passing game, and the strength to win the resultant battle of attrition. Consequently, the Wildcats were rarely troubled, as they ground out the victory.”
