“Although the Wildcats were unable to avenge their fallen sisters today, they at least redeemed themselves as a team. The Castaways received the kick-off, and they attempted to puncture the Wildcats left flank. Jaguar and Lynn blunted this attack, by shoving Sawyer into the crowd, where he was knocked out. The crowd then grabbed hold of Lynn, Jin Kwon and Juliet for good measure, leaving the Castaways with only one blitzer on the pitch.

With the Wildcats closing in on the ball-carrier, that one blitzer tried a heroic charge for the endzone. Dodging away from Jaguar, he shoved Julie towards the sidelines, but she was able to stand her ground, and she tripped him as he tried to dodge away from her. Worse yet, his helmet came off, and he landed on one of the horns. Ouch!

Out-numbering the norse nine to seven, the amazons leapt on the ball-carrier, knocking him out and seizing the ball for themselves. Searles raced away from danger, while her sisters laid the smack on the remaining norsemen, and she made no mistake with the TD in the dying seconds of the half.

The Castaways lined up for the second half with two of their blitzers still in the dug-out. As the Wildcats prepared to take on the norse ogre, the Castaways stole a quick blitz on the Wildcats' left flank. A furious battle ensued on the line of scrimmage, while Phoenix went after the ball deep in her own half. Although Erika dropped the pass that followed, the ball bounced back into her hands. Rushing upfield, Erika fought off John Locke, before scoring the Wildcats' second.

Needing a quick TD to keep the game alive, the Castaways got mired in blocking battles across the pitch. The Smoke Monster put Sarah-bear out of the game, and the crowd got their hands on another norse blitzer. Ben Linus tried to capitalise on the mayhem, but his legs went as he scrambled away for a pass that never came.

Before the catcher could get up, Panther had sacked the ball carrier, and was racing towards the norse endzone. Once again, the amazons suffered from a lack of footwear, as Panther tripped over a stray jaw-bone. Sensing the game was beyond the norse, the remaining amazons set about the Smoke Monster.

Only Erika had the presence of mind to go after the ball, which (of course) she dropped. John Locke seized his moment, but after shoving Erika aside, he dropped the ball as well, and the game ended 2-0.

"The fans really were our thirteenth player, today," Whitta said afterwards, commenting on the number of norsemen sent into the stands. Stands that seemed suspiciously full of amazons with big sticks...”
