“Well, I knew it would be like this - Zons are, as my opponent rightly pointed out - either brilliant or totally crap and die. I had some of both in here. The winning touchdown was a long throw with most of my team in the cas box. The fact I got my teeth kicked in all game with cas probably meant I deserved some luck and I got it. 2 failed dodges all game, an essential pow near the end to stop a certain score (after two dodges and gfi) and a very lucky bounce - then dodge and run - meant I couldn't quite believe my luck. Would I get away with scraping a win with 6 players off field?
Then I tripped going for a gfi I thought vital, and the ball bounced slightly closer to the nearest blitzer, so I had to sweat it out.
I knocked plenty of Humans down, but hardly anything more than stun - certainly nothing requiring an apo - which I am missing badly.
So. The team is, essentially, worse than a starting line up save for a few extra skills. I have 2 players down for next game, both with debilitating injuries, and what money I have has to go on a much needed apo or another linewoman.
What would you do? I need a game where I get ahead - in that I don't care whether they lose or win or whatever, but they start with a full roster, so I can build, rather than patch up.
Played 2, had 3 SI and 1 retirement, with another 2 pending...
Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for the game RC - you're a better coach than I am, could tell from positioning, but I had that ace in the hole - I didn't care if I won or lost, or team died :)
Took a long throw chance, it came off, won the game, whereas caging would have exposed 5 amazons to a serious pounding and eventual defeat against 10 humans :S What the hell, I was lucky ;)
