“Handicaps For Me: Palmed Coin (lol), Bribe the Ref (Great).
Paragon of Malevolence chose to receive first against Slay and Pray despite the pouring rain. They knew the best defense was a great offense and so the Wishmaster bribed the Ref before the game. Knowing that the Zebra was in his pocket, he gave the Executioner, Bane (Dirty Player), the green light. Bane set the tone for his team in the first and landed his patented Leg Drop called the "Beheading" on a Chaos Dwarf Blocker named Majestic. Majestic was badly hurt and sent to the infirmary. Slay and Pray's Blocker, Smack, retaliated with a devastating blow to Malikith badly hurting him. Emeyin then knocked Smack down and Bane followed up with leg drop across the body badly hurting the mighty Dwarf. Coach Gunslinger took notice of Bane and said that, "His fouls are a bit too good for my taste." From then on, he was targeted repeatedly by the Bull Centaur, Vrinkp, and the Minotaur, Duson. Vrinkp finally managed to break through the Executioner's armor seriously injuring him. The Apothecary was sent out with no hesitation. Bane was pumped full of painkillers and continued to play.
Meanwhile, the ball carrier, Nagash was sacked in the backfield by Sopran as the Bull Centaur broke tackle right through two defenders. Emeyin ran back to help and dropped the Centaur to the ground temporarily. He then picked up the ball and managed to stay upgright despite Sopran's next block. Three Dark Elves in the backfield knocked Sopran back down. Emeyin was then freed up to hand the ball off to Judas who ran towards the end zone. PoM was able to stall until their 8th turn and score.
The first half ended, with two Dark Elves badly hurt, one knocked out and another seriously injured. They started the second half with eight players against eleven, but the Wishmaster will take that. PoM Blitzed! at the kick off and put pressure on the Chaos backfield. Slay and Pray was too experienced however and recovered pretty well. Emeyin was trapped by several Hobgoblins and beaten until they had to carry him out to the casualty box. Finally, Bane struck again with a failed attempt at the Minotaur, he switched his sights to a Rookie Blocker. The Blocker was seriously injured but he was Apo'ed. The Ref wanted more money from the Wishmaster but he refused to give it to him so Bane was thrown out of the game.
This was when the Hobgoblin, Dulle, tried to hand off to a fellow teammate. It was still raining pretty hard when the attempt was made and the other Hobgoblin fumbled the ball causing a turnover. Coach Gunslinger knew he shouldn't have had his team attempt that but there were so few Elves left on the field that he couldn't resist the temptation. The agile Dark Elf (5 AGI), Darkstorn slipped into and out of a tackle zone to pick up the ball and pass it to the streaking Elric. He was wide open! The pass was complete and the Blitzer sprinted towards the end zone. Sopran hit him twice but Elric stayed on his feet. He was only two spaces from the end zone when the Bull Centaur finally took him down. Julle the Hobgoblin ran up and deliverd a kick into the chest of the downed Blitzer, badly hurting him. The Ref saw this and booted Julle out of the game. It was a huge call as it only left Sopran eligible to pick up the ball in the pouring rain with only two turns left on the clock. Sopran wasn't able to pick up the ball and PoM escape with the victory.
