“After their last phyrric victory against Darkness Divine, the Silver Guardians knew they would be severely outnumbered for their next game. The coach decided to accept a challenge by the somewhat beaten up Cuerpos Danone orc team. However, when Silverbeach's Sapling decided that his old roots wouldn't allow him to play and Morley took his revenge on Salomon, only 6 Guardians turned up on the pitch at the start of the game. Thinks looked ugly indeed...
The Guardian's coach decided to somehow try to minimize contacts and thus damage to his team, but with only 6 players it was far from easy for the Guardians to protect each other. Due to the low resistance the orcs were able to score easily in the first half and take the lead in the game. But because of stretched lines and uncareful positioning by the opposing coach, the Silver Guardians managed to score the equalizer by running the ball over the field. Somewhere in the chaos Arinmir got blocked out of the game. The team's apoth decided not to intervene, since her career looked to be nearing its end anyway. After the game the catcher with the fast legs was thanked for her services for the team and retired.
The second half was again looking dire for the Guardians with only 5 players left. Aery's steel nerves proved to be of gamewinning quality though. Packed in between 2 mean green beasts she caught the ball from Andariel and managed to dodge through for the touchdown. Next kick-off the orcs forgot once more to close the distance between their lines so that 2 sneaky Silver catchers managed to squeaze through and put pressure on the ball deep on the orc's side of the pitch. Their thrower decided to go for the pass, but apparently forgot about Aery's passblock skill. This resulted in a tackle zone on the thrower and a fumbled pass. Easy enough for strong Coran to blitz the thrower out of the way (with Aery's assistance), clearing the path for Aery's second touchdown and a flattered 1-3 lead for the Silver Guardians.
The remaining 4 turns wouldn't be enough for the slow orcs to score twice more. Especially after Kivan's deep kick it looked like the game was played. The Silver Guardians just evaded their opponents and were more than happy to let them score their second touchdown. It wouldn't matter anymore to endanger the win anyway...
Looking back, this was a good entertaining game. I was afraid to suffer massive damage after seeing that only 6 players showed up. Luckily only Arinmir suffered a niggling injury and she was niggled already resulting in the end of her career. There was a close moment when poor Aery got a niggle as well, but the apothecary managed to lay his skillful healing hands on her just in time.
Good luck with your team, ceruimar!”
