“Another poor performance from the hapless Splatta Sauce. The team has somehow scraped to 136Tr with barely any skills whatsoever but a large squad, but in reality they are no better than a 2 game team.
A number of key moments changed and could have won the game for the Lizards - a 6 required (no rr) ball pickup then dodging to score. My failed catch (and failed rr) to the end zone to equalise in turn 8. An 8 pickup for a Saurii meant any chance I might have had to grab the ball was ended, and a misclick/dodge into a tackle zone failed when I had a chance to make a late break.
On the flipside the skinks almost won the game with an uncontested run to the end zone but one final 3+ dodge failed to tie the game.
My troll was half hopeless this game, so better than usual, the hired star on the Lizards side was very useful all game- I could barely shift him and burned up blocks trying to.
KOs were few and far between for me - the one on a Saurus who stayed out and an early BH on a skink, that was all I managed. A BH on a BOB and 3 KOs for my opponent meant I was on the back foot for long periods vs a multitude of str 4 guys.
To cap it, poor winnings and -FF has me thinking the team is going nowhere fast. I need to retire guys and start near fresh with them - they lack skills anyway so virtually a new team. Disappointing and the main reason they have stayed untouched for 2 years till recently.
Well played Jrandom - you had more chances to win the game so I count myself lucky (in an odd kind of way - that caught pass might have changed things) to scrape a draw.
As for Splatta Sauce... Not sure. They will come out of this game with lower TR that's for sure - I plan to make scything cuts across the team, then take a step back and see if it's worth carrying on or simply starting again with a fresh one. I see little point in flogging dead horses, and this team is near enough dogmeat!
UPDATE:
No extra skills gained. 140TR and a grand total of 3 skills.
That's hopeless by any measure :(
EXTRA UPDATE:
4 retired players and TR dropped from 140 to 118. Even that is too high in my opinion, but is about the level of what a 2-3 game team should be after a mediocre start.”
