“Hmmm, where to start. The khemri got the kickoff, I lined up my soon to be reduced squad. Whack! Troll goes down KO out for the whole of the match from turn 1.
2 more swiftly followed who stayed out for the majority of the game, added to several others, meaning I was 3-5 players down. My opponent didn't fail a block until late on in the first half turn 7 I think, and I was 25-35% down on luckall that time. Failed a GFI (and subsequent rr) to score and it took a desperate 2 dice block , caught bouncing ball then dodge to score, and that was the decider for the game as it turned out.
I was made to sweat through the second half with hardly any players left (6 vs Khemri 11 till late on, then 10) but luckily all those unrelenting pows turned into pow/block to burn rr up from the Khemri, and pushbacks. My last ditch prevent score involved standing about the ball but turn 16 saw my guys cleared and the skeleton that picked it up (need 4 got 6) needed to GFI twice to score. He failed on the first gfi and prevented, from my point of view, an undeserved score. Undeserved because when the dice are so stacked (av7 isn't that hard to break, but it broke twice all game, 1 for ko 1 for MNG) whereas av9 proved easy for both mummy and skeleton alike. A long bomb didn't get anywhere near completion (thrower fumbled) and caused a pile up deep in my half where the ball stayed for the rest of the game until it go to 2 paces of my EZ in T16.
Surprisingly enough the goblin stayed on his feet the whole time, must have wondered what he'd let himself in for with so many skellies bearing down on him :S
So, mental note to not play any khemri ever again ever :P and hard luck Thase - you played well enough to deserve something out of game, but with the dice you had in the 1st and some of the 2nd half ...aside from that 1 lucky turn in T8 I had - this must go down as a satisfying win vs overwhelming forces.
I started this team with low FF so the +1 is appreciated, and the 70k buys an apo, sweet. No skills, but a full squad next game so in the end a very very hard game to win but it came out good for Relentlessly Stupid. Named after the Troll who played no part in the game whatsoever except to line up and get his teeth smashed in, and sit out the game completely. So whether he's actually stupid or a reasonable player, I've still to find out :S
