#1 Bokonon Jr. – Smashed Knee (NI)
A curious game.

A stupid failed GFI on turn 2 gave Skittish Warp an easy chance to blitz my ball-carrying thrower and the first half descended into a desperate brawl deep in my half, the ball being on the pitch more than in hands. Despite their best efforts, the Chaos boys couldn't work a way through my defences without giving up slim chances to blitz the ball. Fortunately my boys were more than up to the job. Half-time score 0-0.

Things started to go wrong in the second half. Solid work by the Skittish Warp hitters meant my players started to drop. Bokonon Jr. picked up a niggling back injury. Mr. Big broke his arm and will miss the next game. Slowly and surely the ball was worked up the pitch and the Chaos TD was inevitable. 1-0 with only 4 turns left.

Good work in the first turn of my drive meant a breakaway of two catchers and a blitzer were deep in the opposition half, hugging the sideline. The Skittish Warp defence moved into position to stop the play and then Nuffle took an interest. The 2D blitz by a Chaos Warrior failed and he ended up on the ground, with The Mysterious Nigel looking down at him in glee. Some smart hitting and blocking from the support team meant that Frances Pirate had an easy jog to the TD instead of having to dodge her way through.

1-1! 2 turns left to defend.

Nuffle looked down...

A scatter that left the ball behind the LOS, but tantalisingly within reach (and with no Chaos players within 2 squares). A Blitz from the kick-off! Earning his MVP, The Mysterious Nigel batted the Beastman out the way and carried on to put pressure on the ball. The two catchers charged through the gap and the ball was picked up. It looked like the draw was safe, but the strength of the Chaos team should ensure that the STR 2 catchers ended up badly hurt. Sure enough, a blitz but the ball back on the ground, but a disastrous snake eyes on the LOS resulted in a turn-over with Skittish Warp being able to rearrange their defence. One turn to go. A blitz and a block freed up the ball. 1 RR left - could Frances Pirate pick the ball up and go for it twice to score the winner?

The pick-up: FAILED!!!

Re-roll: The ball was in hand! Yes!

GFI one - success!

GFI two - TOUCHDOWN!!!!! Get in! Jubilation on the Bokonon bench. Tears of amazement from the crowd. Another win for Bokonon Reborn.

Nogothanc in no way deserved to lose this game. He played tight and hard all game, putting constant pressure on me and making me feel like I was *this* close to disaster each turn. Then he got screwed by three crucial rolls in the last three turns.

Well i rarley write match Reports but when i see that a coach puts effort into this i think it deserves also some words from the other coach.

Well to the game.

My Warps could immediatly put tremndous pressure on the humans offence. We could also get the ball but the problem was we couldnt keep it. To regain the ball the Reborns showed good skills.

Still i was not worried about the game as long as we could keep the Reborns in their own half. And so we did. Sadly we couldnt do the Touchdown. Anyway some Reborns got hurt so in second half things should run better and i expected to have more players on the field.

Second half it was our turn to show the offence of chaos... but we got a little stuck and had to change sidelines to go through the defence. I wanted a faster Touchdown. Well but i can live with it.

So my chaos again in defence... here i expected to win the game 2:1. As faster as the Reborns score as better it is... for sure we try to repeat the first half. Well but than the dices thought otherwise. Still not expecting to loose the game the Reborns did a quick touchdown. So everything was allright. Enough time that we score again.

As the Warps got into position for the offence run to win... somehow i had a bad feeling. So i positioned also players on both sidelines. On one side just one hey what could happen... well Blitz for the Reborns... Ball scattered close behind the LOS... near my weak sideline where the Reborns got through and catched the ball. Hmm.

I could blitz the carrier. The ball was not really free then so i decided to clear the LOS to get a player free to get him back... But Nuffle decided otherwise. again. I knew i have lost than. Reborns had to Pick up + one GFI and one RR for Touchdown well thats it.

Horsehawk played very well and had a good defence positional play. And in important times he could use his advantage... or my disadvantage... but hey thats the game. It was a thrilling game... so even if i lost it was fun. Well and to win an unexpected game is even better. So congratulations Horseback.
