The dice offer me nothing, and I had to play McGuyver, building my 1st half TD out of a pile of pushes and a couple rerolls. I didn't dodge once all half, and the only ball play I made was a Big Hand pickup, which of course took a reroll. I was literally down 47/67 in luck by the time I scored, having somehow managed to stall to T8.
Second half was a deep kick and an orcish commit to one side, while I wheeled around to attack the ball from the other. I applied enough pressure that the orcs had to reverse course back toward midfield to tie up my attackers, and he had to reverse field and hand off to a blitzer who my pressure crew had passed by. Still, he gave up an open 2db on the ball, and I took him up on it. It took 2 GFI to get there with my RSC CW, which of course required a reroll and resulted in pushes. I started to get shorthanded as he was knocking out chaos players and even hurting them, while I had very little luck scratching the orcs. 1db POW/RIP/no-regen on my troll after I'd already apo'ed a no-regen niggling injury to him on a foul earlier. Actually a fair bit of 1db worked for GreyB. I think he started taking for granted that he wouldn't pay for any silly thing he tried...hard to argue since everything seemed to work all game for him.
Orcs scored in their T6, hoping to get the ball back and win. With just 8 players, I managed to get the ball to a MA6 chaos warrior and run over a gobbo (scoring just my 2nd cas of the game), but I'd already used a reroll that turn (on the handoff) and the last GFI I needed to get out of blitzer range resulted in a faceplant and a ball scatter to ONE square shy of where I could possibly score with it.
Pathetic game in all. I can't help but think that I had this one easily if the dice liked me even a tiny bit.”
“First half, I made a stupid move allowing opponent to blitz push his ball carier free, basically giving away a stall + TD, though a succesful dodge roll would've granted him the TD as well, but without a 3 turn stall.
Second half went better, but I still goofed around too much.
Badly played by me for sure, should've been 2-1. ^^”
