Leporine won the coin toss and elected to kick. In typical Skaven fashion, Wreckage soon jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Wrekage thrower, Blackwater, had no troubles fielding the ball and connected safely with gutter runner, Gangrechank. Gangrechank ran down the sideline, avoiding tackle zones and ran in for the easy score. But the Ratz wouldn’t get their paws on the ball again until late in the second half.
On the ensuing kickoff, some fans stormed onto the pitch, knocking over several players. With both of the Malefactors’ Chaos Warriors down and the ball deep in Leporine territory, a footrace to the ball began. Beastman Zarakynel got there first, and a cage quickly formed around him. The Ratz found themselves over committed and having to scramble backward to try and slow the ensuing advance. Try as they might, they could not get to the Zarakynel despite repeated attempts, and Zarakynel sauntered into the end zone at the close of the first half.
As the second half began, Zarakynel again recovered the ball deep within his own territory. And yet again, a cage quickly formed around him. As the Ratz tried to slow the advance, it became apparent that the 2nd half would end much like the first. However, in moving down field, Zarakynel got a little too close to the sideline. It was then that Gangrechank saw an opportunity. Dodging between beastmen L’Yvevsh and Zikariel, Gangrechank plowed into Zarakynel and knocked him out of bounds.
“Me not get there, me think. Goat-faces grab an’ strongerin’ me. But must do try,” squeaked Gangrechank.
The ball was recovered by gutter runner, Trashyard, who proceeded to advance down field. But he was soon knocked down by Chaos Warrior, Arkzein Ahadiel, ending the Ratz scoring threat as the final seconds ticked away. ”
