“Norse vs the DP Darkbones team. Handicap was Virus leaving the Norse without their best ball handler (AG4 Blitzer).
The Darkbones started in offence and both teams went for the bashfoul.
The Darkbones were ahead with clearing guys off the pitch, but only just and were a bit unlucky to not take more out with their Mighty Blow Golem and some of their fouls were not that effective (13 fouls causing 4 cas, whereas the Norse caused 3 cas from 5 fouls).
At the halfway mark, I put the Darkbones ahead in that they pretty much still had their best 11 players, whereas the Worse had one of their best Blitzers hurt.
Both teams went the bashfoul again, with the Darkbones getting ahead by a player (not surprising as it is AV8 vs AV7). The Worse made a break for it down one wing, and the Darkbones chased. They put tackle zones on the Worse player, who failed his 3+ dodge with RR to score (1 in 9 chance to fail) and stunned himself!
The Worse only had 4 players left vs 6 or 7 Darkbones, and they managed to pull of a luck score by using a one dice Blitz to buy a Block/Pow and the ball scattered perfectly. With no RR left (but Pro unused), Hagar the Horrible made a 3+ dodge, 3+ pick up and 2 GFI to steal an unlikely victory.
---------------
I had a fair bit of luck today, especially escaping with 11 players to start the second half - it could have been a lot less!
Second half, I think I was rather unlucky not to have scored that TD on the 3+ dodge, but perhaps that was my own fault in that I could have run down to the sideline one or two more and then Darkbones would not have put two TZs on me, maybe just the 1 (would have to watch the replay to confirm).
We were then very very lucky to come back and get that score on T16 to steal the victory when it should have ended as a draw.”
