#7 Material Sample Collector – Dead (RIP) #9 Transportation Engineer – Dead (RIP)
“After a short period of peace, our Artefact Surface Explorer came across another team of scientists and was overjoyed at their appearance. He thought that perhaps Father had sent another team up to help secure his position. Instantly, he returned to camp to report his new finding to the High Procurer. The Corp immediately mobilized to investigate the matter, but instead of a welcoming wail, we were greeted by a resounding snort. What's this then? Behind the camp, we saw an anormous horned form rising. Apparently one of the lesser yet more ambitious (and foolish) deities has also sent up a team in an attempt to obtain the artefact.
We sent our Communications Expert in to parley with the new rivals. He was instantly turned back and the entire team was forced to enter the camp in order to initiate contact. The other expedition, "Slaves of Love" said their banners, instantly rushed forward, trying to overwhelm us. Despite two of our team were still suffering from the injuries they received in the last encounter, our quickly formed defensive line held against the fierce onslaught of the brutal fools. Father Nurgle's wisdom proved true, as all knew it would. The Security Officer was a crucial addition to our team. In the first attack, we lost our Material Sample Collector to the savageries of the rivals' minotaur. May the Father find him helpful. We did manage to slow them down, but eventually, they forced us out of their camp. After a small skirmish on their camp borders, we retreated to rethink our strategy.
When we returned to their fence, they were waiting. According to our Securty Officer, their defense was surprisingly good, but by no means impregnable. And so we started whittling away at their defenses with measured strikes and smart blocks while the Artefact Surface Explorer and the Catalogue Scribe brought up the rear. There was a prolonged fight on the border, during which we caused a few casualties for the Slaves, although our own expedition suffered yet another heavy loss in the death of our Transportation Engineer. One of their team was carried off the field of battle by their medical staff. But before long our Foreign Technology expert pushed his way through their lines, which inspired the rest of the team to even more heated efforts. Soon after, it was time for the Security Officer to lead by example. He crushed the skull of one of the opposition. For some reason, these creatures ceaselessly strive to undo progress. Oh, the ignorance that rules this place. They do not see that progress is inevitable, and therefore they fight to keep it at bay. The Slaves' medical staff somehow managed to repair the damage done by the Security Officer. Our Foreign Technology Expert, however, managed to reach their archive and retrieve files detailing the phases of their expedition so far. When they saw this, they quickly regrouped, and so did we, for one last brawl. The last face-off was uneventful, and we returned to our camp to study the documents we discovered.
Yet another encounter that cost us dearly. We can now see the short-term benefits of having medical staff, but such things are unnecessary for those of true faith. Father Nuffle will guide us towards his goals, which are beyond our understanding. Progress will prevail.”
“Although a very bloody match, with Pimp Daddy and Christina Spitesore on the helm, Abyss Acquisitions Corp. held up admirerably. Although the Slaves came in as the favorites, the opposition showed otherwise.
Player of The Match : Foreign Technology Expert ( 1TD + 1 CAS)
A very hard match for the teams, with luck running out on both on few important occasions
Thank you for the match InkRose...”
