“The Graumroth Silverskulls took on the Valenwood Rangers in their first match. Their elves were a bit in front experiencewise, but that didn't seem to bother the Orc team.
The Rangers charged first and delivered the ball near the sidelines. The attack however was stopped in its tracks as the orcs managed to swarm the ball carrier and the elves were forced to a momentary retreat. They had some bad luck in their maneuvers and the Silverskulls took immediate advantage of this. They charged the ball carrier and took control of the ball after a lucky scatter. The elves tried to stop the charging blitzer, but to no avail. The first touchdown was scored shortly afterwards.
The second drive started in a similar fashion. The elves attacked near the sidelines. Their ball carrier however got too eager and ran a bit too far with the ball. And after a failed dodge by a lineman, the orcs blitzed the ball carrier down again and grabbed the ball. Despite good effort the orcs didn't have enough time to deliver the ball to the endzone. The half time score was 1-0 for the Graumroth Silverskulls.
The first drive of the second half was clearly dominated by the Silverskulls. They managed to plow their way through the elves players and send several of them back to the dugouts on the way. Stoon was one of the victims as Grumdrig took his life. The orcs scored soon after and 2-0 was a reality.
This seemed to break the elven coaches back as he started yelling started encouraging the Graumroth coach to foul his players! Well he was obliged. After an unsuccesfull throw and a turnover, the Silverskulls struck down several of the elven players. Whopee granted the elvish wish and kicked one of them so hard that he never stood up. Hopefully the Rangers' coach was happy with the result.
The Silverskulls managed to score once more with a quick sprint from a blitzer. A wonderful victory for the Silverskulls in their opening game.
