Our brand new lizardmen face uvenlord's slightly frontloaded (FF2) dwarves who are equally brand new. That's a lot of tackle vs our defenseless skinks... hopefully we can outrun them!

We start things off with a max distance kick that bounces out for a touchback to the dwarves letting a blitzer start with the ball. On our first turn we blitz over one of the troll slayers and then send in 5 skinks to gang foul him into the KO box.

They run the ball through with a lone blitzer and we blitz free a couple lizards to mark him, then throw two skinks in to make it even tougher for him to escape. They go for the 1d block with their RR used up and can only turn up a skull! This lets us steal the ball (using up our last reroll) and we run it upfield in the hands of a skink. Unfortunately 1d blocks going well mean they are able to blitz over his cover for a MNG and then put a tackler on the ball carrier.

Once again 1d blocks go their way as they MNG a saurus with a blitz that lets them free space around the ball. They only have two turns though, so they go for a pass to a blitzer in a tackle zone.. and he makes the catch only to fail the dodge away!

The half ends scoreless, but with 2/2 KO'd skinks failing to wake up (while their trollslayer wakes up) that means we have just 7 vs a full 11 dwarves. Yuck.

We push through with a skink, swapping sides to (briefly) throw the slow dwarves off the scent, though with so many players they are able to spare a couple to get back. Still we are very close to setting up a TD on turn 4, just needing a dodge away from a tackle-less slayer but the skink badly hurts himself. They then badly hurt a saurus and stun the skink with the ball. We have just 5 left on the pitch now!

A troll slayer fails his dauntless, and gets himself KO'd, letting us throw a dwarf longbeard into the crowd (where he's torn limb from limb), but we are still heavily outnumbered here. They recover the ball and start the long process to get it upfield, and we're left with desperation moves to try and stop them, finally getting a saurus beside the ballcarrier (and the edge of the pitch) on our last turn. They go for the 2d blitz into the crowd... and roll double skulls!

0-0 but we claim the moral victory here :)
