Minions of the Swamp 0 - 2 Recrudescence of Vanyar

Dear Vanyar,
The land of Mordor is a strange, hostile and alien world, - vicious, savage, and unforgiving - where generals become bizarrely upset that their soldiers, who are already dead, are slain on the field of battle! But we shed no tears for them and nor will we for any of their kindred.

They gave as good as they received however and our baptism into Mordor was a harsh awaking of what lies ahead in this bloody gambit. Indeed we suffered more in this one skirmish than we had in seasons worth of battling the Deadmen!

Although they who’s name shall not be uttered matched us in brutality they could of course not even compare to us in the pursuit of victory, and our rough drive to it was assured before the fight even began.

Despite the losses incurred, and the tough journey ahead of us, my men continue with fervour, clear of the assignment and privilege of being the first Freeworld Force to invade Mordor; and none more so than Arelius is aware of this and has trained hard on his strength to join the ranks of the powerful!

Agile as Goblins, and as powerful as Orcs we will defeat the forces of Mordor on their own turf, squash them from within – though we may fight on the side of Mordor for the Rings of Power in this campaign, our allegiances to ourselves and Vanyar has not changed – we fight to claim the Rings for ourselves!

Glory to Vanyar! Death to all who oppose us!

Regards,
Tarius.

This has got be one of the most brutally balanced games I have played (at an early stage it was all one sided my way), and neither team sported much in the way of Mighty Blow nor excessive DPage – and so nuffle saw to compensate for this.
My team way outclassed Wotfud’s, so when he was even in the process of scoring mid way into the second half (after tying up the CAS) I was comfortable that I would still make it 2 – 1.
Once it became clear he couldn’t win he then went out on a referee aided killing spree, which we tried to get well out of after losing our own DP.

We both lost a fair amount but continue to fight another day. :)

GG Wotfud

Fellowship of Mordor V - Round 1

Hanicaps in my favour were Iron Man, Duh where am I and Knuckledusters.

Before the teams even lined up I knew I wan't going to win this one. The fall from grace that the Minions have suffered have seen some long standing stars disappear into dust:

Rotten Stench III, with 36 games and 52spp.
Quick Sand II, with 39 games and 97spp.
Twilight Mist , with 44 games and 87spp.
Swamp Lord with 37 games and 51spp.
Swamp King II 37 games and 28spp... to name a few.

This loss of these key players has left us at the mercy of anyone we face. Now we faced this Freeworld turncoat. Already gloating about our demise in the forums it seemed that Nuffle was going to punish Sera through the boots of the undead. But it came at great cost.

The first half was all high elf. But the high elves were afraid to score early and try for a second. Instead they hung on until the end to score, and were punished for their delay.

The second half saw the undead carrying the ball, and some bitter fighting took place. Unhappy that Nuffle and the High Elves had combined to see 3 permanently dead players, including a long servant of the team Hillman of Rhudaur, and useful Ghoul Midlew Fungus II,I managed to wreak havoc on the opposition. It wasn't particularly sadistic, but the referee helped! The one time he did spot a foul, our mummy stood in front of him to "gently persuade" him that he might have been wrong. Eventually desperation saw a break away by my iron man ghoul, but the odds of scoring were low with no rerolls left. Despite a brave attempt (and a most annoying misclick which I couldn't bear to own up to at the time!) a -2db push back worked, but the subsequent dodges failed. The ball fell in to the lap of the nearby elves who quickly secured the 2nd TD in turn 16.

All in all, after the first half I was glad to still be challenging for a draw. After losing more experienced players it was little comfort to see the High Elves being carried off as well... but it did help a bit! Serves Sera right for discounting my team in the forum, and for rubbing my face in it about the OBBA first round nuffling that my Khornets suffered. :)

Now we have to see if Damatze can bully the High Elves further... If he doesn't then I might have to disown him in the Two Towers! :)
