#10 Sarah Bloodlust – Dead (RIP) #12 Helen Vileblade – Dead (RIP)
“A brutal match played in the rain.
The Shadows started in offence, but left their Sidestep Witch by herself on the sidelines and the Falconettes used 5 players to surf her!
The Shadows retreated with the ball whilst the Falconettes kept up the pressure.
The Shadows then inflicted 3 RIPs (1 apothed) in the space of 2? turns to totally turn the game on its head.
With no RR, they picked up the ball and passed it to their Witch Elf who ran downfield with the ball. However, the Shadows again were too close to the sidelines, and the Falconettes with 1 GFI were able to set up the Shadows Witch for a Frenzy surf into the crowd.
The Falconettes had a chance to set up a TD score (3+ pick up, pass and catch) but got a Skull and Skull/Pow to start their next turn and it was the end of the half.
It was 9 on 9 early, then 8 on 8, then 8 on 7 as the Falconettes surfed another player whilst keeping the ball screened. The Falconettes' Mighty Blow Lineman was effective with KOs and a cas and the Shadows were soon outnumbered and some Double Skulls didn't help their cause.
In the end it was an easy TD for the Falconettes but a costly game due to the incredible first half bashfest.”
