“A very tight game late in the first half turned into a rout.
A pitch invasion stunned 4 players on both teams to start the game!
The Waag on defence got an early 2 GFI 1 dice POW on my Blodge ball carrier, putting me under pressure early.
The School pushed, retreated, pushed, retreated and finally scored on turn 6. It was a very very difficult half as the Waag were getting a lot of POWs, but luckily, no cas, only one KO and few stuns.
The Waag had 3 turns to score, but the game fell apart for them when their Frenzy Blitzer double skulled, using a RR and got trapped on the sideline (where he was pushed out of bounds next turn) and their thrower tripped on a GFI trying to get to a deep and wide kick.
The School dodged through and punted the ball (lucky as no RR left after using RR on 3+ pickup) into the endzone, too far for the Waag to recover and score a TD.
The Waag played clever defence, potentially neutralizing two School scorers on one wing, but the School used their Dodge skill and a chain push to free both of them again and raced towards the ball.
With no RR (but 1 assist protection against a crowding) the School were able to make a 2+ dodge (with Dodge skill) and the 2+ pick up on T8 to take a 2-0 lead.
With 1 turn left on the drive and no Gobbo to throw, the Waag fouled and BH a rookie School lineman.
In the second half, the School fans killed the ref, and they kicked deep - into the Waag endzone!
Waag retreated both their tacklers deep on defence and were unable to get any knockdowns on the LOS. The School surged forwards, and the dice were on their side as they caused a BH on a DP, and a foul removed one Tackler (BH).
The School extended their advantage as they BH the Waag DP and KOd the other Tackler on their way to stealing the ball and taking a 3-0 lead.
The Waag on their final drive caged the ball on the LOS, but the School had the dice on a string as they one dice chainpushed the ball carrier onto the wing to one dice POW BH him!
The ball scattered loose outside of the cage, but the School made the 3+ pick up and were off down the wing.
The Waag two dice powed the unprotected Blodger, and picked up the ball. The School blitzed him, using 4 dice but were unable to knock him down, but the Dump Off pass was fumbled/missed.
Waag scooped up the ball, dodged and passed it up the other wing, but it was not caught.
The School had an awkward chance to rack up a 4-0 win, making a 3+ pick up, but their 3+ pass missed (reroll failed) and it was game over.
-----------------
Well it turned out to be a silly game. The Waag were all over me for the first 5 or so turns, with one dice and two dice Pows without tackle.
Then the game turned on its head as his dice deserted him big time and his tacklers were either too far away or fouled/KOd/BH and his hitters couldn't get a Pow to save their life.
