“SWL Season XXX - Gone's Slipper Conference League XXX - Round 7

A beautiful kick by the Ancients, combined with perfect defence, saw the girls scrambling back to their own end zone to try to secure the ball. After completely falling apart last week, they were determined not to do it again. This time, they were fortunate enough to get the ball vaguely secure ... but not secure enough. Once again, they were underestimating the movement of the ghouls. theo managed to set up a 1d blitz on the ball carrier with Corpse Viper, which succeeded flawlessly, taking out the ball carrier and collecting the ball all in one clean move.

Desperation mounted, and the girls did everything they could to take down the ball carrier ... eventually succeeding (after many, many failed attempts). Seeing a long pass open, Silly Throwa chucked the ball down to Sneaky Dodga ... not a particularly accurate pass, (but hopefully good enough). Fortunately, there wasn't an undead creature within sight, and despite failing on her first attempt to pick up the ball, Sneaky Dodga eventually succeeded, and scored right on time in turn 8.

Half time score: 1-0

We played a fairly tight defence in the second half. It was somewhat remeniscent of the first half (though in reverse), however Mange Rage seems to be a more accurate throw than out so called "thrower". Eye Likka succeeded in knocking the ball loose, but unfazed, Fax Mortis picked it up with ease scoring in turn 16.

So there you have it, a draw ... or so we thought. The girls lined up for one last shot (at worst hoping to get in a good foul on one of the filthy zombies! A quick snap caught the ancients off-guard, and with a few blocks here and there, somehow Kidnee Basha found herself in range for a possible touchdown! Seizing her chance, she blitzed one of the zombies, and dodged her way through for an unexpected touchdown!

For the touchdown, of course. Fax was the only player that really put himself in a position to score, and did exactly what was needed to make it happen.

Got the ball to Fax when it was needed (nice throw). Also made a few rather handy blocks, some resulting in KO or worse.
