“I thought this match would be a rout. And it was. But totally in my favor! :D
Turn 1 began and ended badly, with perfect defense screwing up my one chance to fireball 6 of his guys at once (ended up using him turn 8 to nuke a single ogre for not even a stun), and a quick RR'ed turnover making me think I was in for the Nuffling of a lifetime.
But Nuffle heard my plea, and perhaps realized how abysmally he had treated my norse in their first match (also vs ogres), and from then on, the action was pretty much entirely one-sided in my favor.
Fouls that were caught invariably also took an ogre off the pitch for the match, one badly hurt, one SI (groin sprain, right in the nuts), and one killed outright (apoth failed). My chaos warriors also managed to take down 3 more (though one was just the lowly goblin)
A final drive BLITZ! Sealed the match, with my beastment storming the opposing pitch, and some key failed BoneHead rolls (out of many, many failed over the course of play - rather more than one expects, I would say) allowed me to snag the ball and/or blitz the ball carrier as needed to escape with the touchdown.
Attempts to unbreak these ogres by thinning out their +AG ranks proved only 25% successful, with the +AG, -AV ogre killed in a foul.
Though I had a couple of snakes and failed gfi of my own, all in all Nuffle pooched these poor ogres pretty hard, and termyta's coaching really couldn't be held to blame. He even got nailed on winnings and FF, which I don't ever wish on the opposition. Even a TR 257 ogre team... ;p
(also, my decision to apothecary my +St +ST niggling did, in fact, I think prove key to my success in the match, as he remained an obstacle to be dealt with, and a juicy blitz target that often could not be ignored, allowing other players to run free...) ”
