Our 50th match, and what a match it was. Espionage fielded an experienced team of Norse (35 matches) for what was to be an incredible bloodbowling extravaganza. While the Crazy Kings were still greeting their fans, the "Long boat crew" immediately seized the moment by exploiting a rare defensive error in the Crazy Kings line-up. Lord Splutticus had forgotten how the concept of touchback works exactly and saw that punished with a quick Norse TD.

During the second drive, the Crazy Kings tried to power through their opponents for a quick equalizer. Two turns and several casualties later, a methodical two-turn drive put them back on par. From then on, the Crazy Kings seized control of the match by perfectly executing their Wall-of-Meat strategy, to the despair of the Long boat crew, who waited for the right bonehead to push forward but never found a hole in the defense.

Eventually this passive approach led to a short but feisty slugfest that took out key players of the Norse team, including a dauntless player and the star Ogre.

The Crazy Kings exploited the numerical advantage to build a 3-1 lead, but then Nuffle stepped in and allowed a Norse player to dodge away and blitz El Essadji (who was en route to the 4-1),then proceed with a Norse pick-up, a long throw to a catcher in three tacklezones, several successful dodges and one of the most momentous touchdowns in my coaching career.

Things got tense with 2 turns left and a final drive, would the Crazy Kings fail to lose this anniversary match? Playing by-the-book elfbowl, El Essadji scored the 4-2 in the final moments of this incredible match. Fitting for the celebrations, not a single player iincurred a permanent injury during the course of the match.

For being a great sport, even when down on his luck, and for playing true to the sambabowl spirit, Espionage is going on my whitelist. As predicted we passed the 360TR mark and will probably break 370TR before our next match.
