“Handicaps were helpful for once, the treeman claimed he didn't do it but was forced to sit out the match anyway, and Ltrrsl went into the match brandishing some knuckledusters.
First half, turn 1. Wood elf catcher with ball is left on the sideline, break tackle saurus makes a 3+ roll to get in range and shunts him off. The ball was thrown straight back to a line elf, but the badly hurt catcher set the tone for the rest of the game. After the woodies scored in turn 2 the carnage really started. BH, SI (-ag, apothed), SI (mng), BH in the one turn really set the mammalians back. In turn 3, a wardancer managed to force my skink to drop the ball, but he was promptly bashed onto it and before being carried off KOd bumped the ball onto a saurus who seemed as surprised as everyone else to see the ball stick in his hands. While that saurus made for the line another line elf was carried off with injuries that will make him miss a game. Turn 5 saw yet another SI (-ma) before the lizards equalised to 1-1. With just 5 elves taking the pitch, the lizards were able to run over them, scoring on turn 8 to make it 2-1, with just the one ko during that period.
Second half was more of the same, first block and a str 4 line elf was being measured for a coffin. Turn 2, another SI. After a last ditch block by a wardancer resulting in a skull the lizards made it 3-1. By this stage, with only 4 elves still capable of playing the casualties were slowing down (there just weren't the opportunities to hit anything). But still it continued. A pitch invasion resulted in the second 4 str line elf being badly hurt and one wardancer KOd while the remaining dancer and catcher were stunned. It was easy enough for the lizards to make it 4-1 while the wardancer KOd himself trying to run away. With one turn left, the lizards kicked off, and the sole remaining elf catcher ran off the line and the game was over.
The woodies tried to make a game of it, but 10 cs (including that crowd push and a PI late in the game on my kick off) pretty much meant they had no chance.”
