The Shattered Slayers won the toss and opted to receive the first kick of the game. A few scuffles on the Line of scrimmage and a dwarf goes down face first. Vinak Boss-ball collected the loose ball. The right flank opened up with Sarfu and Borgan breaking down the dwarven left defenseand clearing a passage from the slow moving dwarves. Vinak tossed the mid range pass and BORGAN SCOOPED IT OUT OF THE AIR. That was a fine pass completion by the Shatterhand Slayers number 10. Waruk and Xug moved a into shielding position on the field and the dwarves never looked like stopping the rampant Slayers offense. The crowd spotted a wild foul in the centre of the park but the referee was making eyes at the bold TD thrust of the orc blitzers. Gnarg was knocked out stone cold and he took a while to recover from that 'play'. Borgan went over the livne for the orcs 1st TD of the game to the roar of orc supporters. A short display of bravado ensued before the kick off to the Zeppelin. The Slayers front line compressed together as the Over the Hills collected the ball. The dwarves thrust slowy but ruggedly through the centre of a tough Slayers defense. After such a quick opening TD the dwarven advance ate up the clock. The Slayers were barking battle cries and setting their bodies for tackles, but even the mighty blockers and swift blitzers couldnt significantly slow the dwarven tide. An inexorable wave of dwarves broke over the worn rocks of the orc defense. Over the Hill went over the Slayers line in the dying moments of the 1st half, and the man in the zebra strripes blew the whistle to send the bruised players into the changing rooms for half time.
2ND HALF
With an early score on the board, the orcs made the perfect start to the game, but the dwarves retook the initiative with a perfectly timed drive to the end zone. the 2nd half was beautifully tee d up for a real grudge match. Waruk got the game underway, and the Zeppelin, made some very familiar moves. Borgan, the orcs scorer took a real cruncher high in the body and took some time to get up. More orcs were hitting the deck, seemingly in line with the dwarven rumble forward. the future was not looking bright for sirdave79 and his tightknit group of greenskins. Another foul goes in and the man in black and white is being threatened by a dwarf. regardless weve got no whistle and play continues. Over the Hill is bossed the dwarven machine, this boy looks like he has a real future in this game, they ground forwards and it started to look like the orcs just couldnt get that ball back from the stout ball players. With things really starting to look bad, Borgan stepped up to the plate and delivered again, adding smashed dwarf to his scores for the day. A longbeards career ended with Borgans glory. A small gap opened in the dwarven line and korz blitzed into Over the Hill. There was a little moment of uncertainty and then Over the Hill was eating astrogranite and the ball bobbled away from dwarven hands. The Slayers could finally get a break and Vinak tidied things up from the behind safety of a couple of black orcs. All of a sudden the games character had changed, and dwarven shoulders sagged. A foul on barfu failed to have any influence on things and a couple more dwarves went down under green fisted blows. Another longbeard was stretchered off the field for the apothecarys attention and Vinak made a break from the central scrum.Sarfu and Korz moved into support and paired off with Vinaks nearest opposition. The dwarves having lost the game by this point were very deflated. A dwarf or two even looked up at the clock and slumped back to the ground in a resigned grudge stupor. And then before Vinak took it over the line for the winner, Borgan came running in for a spectacular long range foul on Over the Hills runner partner for the game. Claret splashed and the crowd cheered, another dead dwarf, seconds later a 2nd TD and an all round superb victory for the Slayers. They look like a team to look out for in the future! Borgan lapped up the appreciation of his teams fans after the game and really gave the orc supporters value for their money today. A star in the making I think
