“Season 2 - Game 1:

A tough game as Larry Johnson was alone for this one - and only 10 thralls as guards. Could he carry the team? Not completely and certainly not when the thralls failed so badly. On turn 1, Larry Johnson showed his strength by hurting a dwarf - only for the wretched creature to be saved by an apothecary. However, a bull centaur was surrounded and fouled...only a stun and the ref ejects the thrall. Blast it! Who tipped off the ref? Well, San Diego was content to leave LT surrounded - so the bull was fouled again - a KO and AGAIN he is ejected :( One dp thrall failed to show up (niggle) and two more ejected after 2 turns with nothing to show for it. Bah - their friends and family would suffer this week for sure - this stupid thralls will be motivated! Halftime, Larry Johnson lit into the thralls - they would have to do better. Brandon Carr is a very seasoned fouler - he was saved for last - and showed way. He started off the second half injuring another dwarf...and for the third time the ref came out - but enough was enough! We argue the call and slipped a few coins in as well and the ref was satisfied. Then the evil Antonio Gates came smashing in and killed Brad Cottam. Apoth failed - but meh - who cares, he was just a thrall. However, the rest of the thralls were worried...what was happening - they feared for their lives and Brandon Carr came to the rescue landing a hard boot to Antonio Gates' neck...RIIIIP! Ah the sweet sound of blood splattering around! This would keep Larry Johnson happy - the thralls were off the hook for now! Larry Johnson smiled at the thralls activity as he single-handedly stole the ball and tossed a long bomb to Copper and the thrall scored on T16 for a draw.

Overall, a solid, if not great, start to the new season!”
