Caps were Morley's (on my three Tacklers!) and Smelling Salts.
Trident started with the ball, and despite a quick snap, messed up a chance to set up a mass foul on a Lion Warrior (pushed him the wrong way to get enough assists).
High Elf School blitzed the lone Trident Tackler (a Leaper too) and fouled him off, a massive blow for Trident.
Trident scored quickly, and then tried to stop the School as they kept the ball back and picked off targets. Another foul casued a Niggle (apothed) and the School also got some lucky block cas (we got 4 for the game!).
The Trident DP was sent off (I think in the first half) and the School had the game in control as they went for the Pass by their 2 SPP Phoenix Warrior to a 27 SPP Dragon Warrior to tie the score. Oops, snakes and no score!
Second half saw the School start on offence, with Morleys again not working for Trident. The School stalled out the half again, causing a few more Cas and KO. The outnumbered Trident didn't have much of a chance as their RR disappeared.
A greedy +6 foul with they eye on me got our DP sent off for only a stun. Damn!
However, we didn't mess up our last turn score this time (though we could have with snakes as we decided to skill our rookie Phoenix Warrior).
The Trident had one turn to score, and spent an eternity trying to work out how they would do a one turn TD and were punished by Nuffle for taking so long when we got a Perfect Defence lol.
Overtime saw us kicking, and Morley's kicked in on all three of my Tacklers! Fortunately we still had 3 or 4 rerolls to none and a Perfect Defence on the kickoff saw the School mob onto the stacked Trident LOS.
Trident then had a horror series of rolls.
Turn 1, 1 to pick up the ball.
Turn 2, Skull block
Turn 3, Double Skulls block
Turn 4, Skull block
This nuffling allowed me to storm through (but not with too many in case he did get the ball and pass it) and steal it.
We got some more KO/CAS and were able to stall out the game and score with a rookie Lino and win the match.
--------------
A fun game on this side, though it would not have been as enjoyable for RonnieT with my amazing hitting and fouling - my first two fouls were CAS and I got another 4 block cas without MB against AV8.
Two skillups for Round 2 with 6 players a MVP away from a skill for Round 3 if we make it through, we are in a good but not overly confident position. ”
