Soranar is a good natured, but overly competitive coach I think. Feeling that the only way to have fun is by winning is maybe not the best way to play javabowl - you get screwed by the dice and it makes you feel twice as bad. Of course, he probably said that tongue in cheek ;-)
The game started with the chaos producing neverfailing pows (tm) and me picking my players up for the most part for the first 4 turns. Whilst that continued for the first half unabated, I'd slipped into 'I don't care any more so I will try anything, and if it fails, who cares?' mode which usually results in failure, but sometimes results in a total stuffing, and this was one of those times.
I dodged better than elves, caused cas better than Khemri (ok, exaggeration) and scraped the narrow win, though a blitz and 2 gfi stopped a 3rd td - in hindsight I should have protected better, but the Chaos were 4 men down and I was able to cover the ball so a 6 would be needed, which ended the game (after which a dodge and long bomb would've maybe tied the scores).
Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes the windshield, asthey say, and this was illustrated. Despite the massive number of blocks the Chaos threw (and got pows with) they only broke armour a few times - badly hurt, miss next game and a pile of KOs - all of which came back. Plenty of stuns tested my picking players up skills, but the Chaos were screwed here - I thre fewer blocks and scored better cas - go figure.
Hope you have better luck with the team or a new one if you so decide Soranar. You're a good player, fast, chatty, no teddy out of pram fouling, in other words, you're alright in my book :D
Summary of game I got the luck with cas and dodging, Soranar with pows and little else”
