“Challenge from: opponent

Two new box fresh teams and a tryout of a new strategy for me. Knowing that Norse tend to fall over and squeal a lot, I brought 13 players to the park, and 4 rerolls. Well, turns out 4 rerolls ain't enough - not when you want to throw or pick the ball up anyway. 3 failed throws, 1 came off right at the end when a 2nd gfi on a blitz failed for the Darkies and let me in to quick pass and score. The scoreline flatters me - it was hard fought, give and expect no quarter, and the Dark Elves were a pick up (in a tackle zone) away from scoring, but luck at the right moments failed them :(

My blocks, on the other hand, were pretty much spot on. At least these guys can block, even if anyhing else is beyond them. Actually, they dodged a few times as well, and overall the first match turned out pretty good. Only one player skilled, but reasonable cash and +FF means it's great for us, not so for the Misfits :(

Murd3rfac3 is a really great guy to chat to, a real pleasure to play against, regardless of the game result. I don't take Norse seriously so was more or less cheering when my guys failed something. Along the lines of "these guys are total cretins" I think, or something like. Repeated several times with every failed pass :)

Luck score about right - we failed a lot of passes, Darkies failed a few blocks, the odd crazy dodge (through tackle zones) and odd gfi. Mine jumped 3-5% in the last turn because of the successful blitz and quick pass/catch to score, otherwise it was tight and I wouldn't have been unhappy at a 1-1 draw with a well played Dark Elf team lacking luck in a few vital moments.

Meanwhile I'm off to check if the match ball or my players gloves are coated in soap...
