Got a handicap that was as useful as a chocolate fireguard - bone head on a goblin, and intended to see what would happen with 6 Ogres vs 4 Mummies. In the blocking stakes, the Ogres totally kicked my ass - I was down by 5 players for a long time in the match with Badly hurts that missed regen (one of which was mummy) and 3 perma kos (tm) so continuing my current trend of having hardly any players on the field and not much to do other than pick them up. Things improved for me in the 2nd half - the Ogres were bone heading more often than not, and I took 4 goblins out of play, but couldn't do more than stun any of the ogres.
I'll get the usual blah blah cherry pick team strength rubbish from some obnoxious tosser on the chat forum but the only thing stopping the Ogres from scoring was a bone head late on - after I'd purposefully kicked the ball out of play so the Ogres would get a touchback and finally a chance to score given their lousy run of luck (no rerolls and far too many Ogres on the team will do that unfortunately).
Never got any thanks for that so I don't really suppose I care much about the result. Win/lose/die whatever. I'd intended for my av7 team to get killed off with enough niggles and mng to retire the team, instead the Ogres didn't really show up. If they had turned up am sure they would have wiped the floor with me - I was outnumbered all game until late on and I could field 9 players.
Luck is out, but not much different from what it was thanks to opponent disconnecting. He'd rolled double skulls but I didn't care by then so let him get on with things, effectively gifting him another chance at the block he'd just failed.
I didn't enjoy the game as for one coach to get all the luck (that would've been me, though I rolled a fair few double skulls, including a double skull reroll double skull at the start of the game after the first block of the game had taken a mummy out) turns a game into a procession, and both of us just wanted it over I suspect.
Anyway, blah blah, time to start playing with Orcs again. My brief foray with other teams has produced a mixture of frustration, apathy and disinterest. And people say orcs are boring? I use them so I'm not bored! :D”
