“It was Strikers versus Skinks in Round 2 of SWL Premier action. The Reds had come off a harsh initiation against Woodies Double Revenge, whilst Slumbering Skink had seen off the Amazonian challenge of We Fink Wer Orks.

The Reds received, but wasted the opportunity as they were able to knock down only one player in an inglorious start. The deep kick by the Lizards was also not in the Dwarves' favour, but Klaus Fuchs was able to track back and then nail a pass to Kliment Voroshilov. It was the Lizardmen who were able to do some damage, putting Reds' hardman Lavrenti Beria out for the game with a foul, though the referee did send off the perpetrator Tskkneeyo. Georgy Malenkov knocked out SSnnrriaoeo to give the Dwarves a temporary numerical advantage but the inability of most blocks to even knock a player over, let alone hurt him, greatly frustrated the Dwarves. A great blitz by Gyvrr on Voroshilov knocked the ball clear, and Nnll the Kroxigor put Vyacheslav Molotov out for the day to make it even harder for the Reds. The Dwarves finally started knocking people over, as if jolted out of their lacksidaisical mindset. The ball bounced from underneath a falling Saurus into the arms of another Saurus, Klbll, who managed to hold on to the slippery ball. Klbll was able to spring away from the Dwarves, who were unable to chase effectively because of both the Lizardman wall and their innate lack of speed. Whilst the Reds did some more ineffective blocking, Klbll handed the ball to Pllcuaoo, the Skink, who ran in the touchdown in the shadows of halftime.

The second half was not one for the fans, with Sin-ler-fa content not to score and maintain the 1-0 lead. Midway through the half, the Skink did make a break for it, but fell victim to a great bit of cagebusting from Klaus Fuchs, who ran the ball out toward the endzone. Pllcuaoo tried some cagebusting of his own, but came up short. With the Dwarves in a seemingly strong position, disaster struck. Voroshilov failed badly, knocking himself down when blocking the Skink Sin-ler-fa. it enabled Klbll to mash Fuchs, with the ball spilling into the crowd only to be thrown far away from the play. With the Dwarves trying to regain possession, Pol Pot made a similarly bad block on Pllcuaoo, all but ending the Reds' dreams of tieing up the match.

A bitter loss for the Strikers. Their coach will be hammering them on their blocking. The amount of times they failed to knock their opponent over with seemingly easy blocks in the first half made them cringe, whilst it got worse in the second half. Not only did they not knock them over, but managed to knock themselves over in the process. Apart from a stunning cage blitz by Fuchs, there were practically no highlights in a lacklustre performance for the Reds.

Best Skink out there. Received the ball from Klbll for the first touchdown, and was able to vitally hold his ground when blocked by Pol Pot towards the end.

Holding his ground against Voroshilov turned the match.
