“ This was my first OCCS tournament win, and I'd like to put it all down to my incredible skill. However, I can not. This was a fun and exciting match despite the 2-0 score. There were several points in the game where things could have turned out differently and it would have been 2-0 the other way. Kudos to my opponent for putting up a strong fight all the way to turn 8 of the 2nd half. Today Nuffle smiled upon the lizards instead of the woodies.

In truth, the biggest factor in this match was the failed dodges on the part of the wood elves. Both coaches played well and made few mistakes. But at several crucial points when my opponent needed a dodge, it failed. I have had similar experiences with elves and its why I rarely play them now. I'll also give him credit for playing the bashiest wood elves I've ever encountered, and some of the bashiest elves I've ever played against. And he did it well, too. But the armor 7 started taking its toll in the middle of the 2nd half and gave me an openining to seal the game with a second TD.

A humorous moment in the game occured when Tenochtitlan (Saurus) was rushing for the endzone and was knocked over. The ball popped loose and ended up in the hands of Pinefury (Treeman), who happened to be rooted. I knocked him down and got the ball back, so Pinefury tried to stand up. He failed on the first attempt, and then got rooted on the second. Gotta love those dependable Big Guys!”
