Haures was trying out Norse, offered up a game vs my new Orcs. I know from recent experience how Norse can be. Sometimes, AV7 isn't much of a problem. Others... well, I was down to 9 Orcs by end of the first half, but both came back for the 2nd. The Norse were dropped to 7, with 1 coming back for the 2nd.
My norse teams usually keep me humble, with anything from scraping 10-11 players to 3 left at the end of the game. That's not to say they didn't have luck - I got pretty much 1 and -2 dice powed all over the field in the first half, managed to score an early cas and a late one, and stuck a foul (no effect) in for good measure with the gobbo late on.
That was the first half... and that was it.
Haures conceded from the kickoff in the second, kind of understandable really. Most players hate being outnumbered - I'm no exception - though with my Norse I kind of got used to it and grit my teeth, even when I put them up game after game vs Ogres and have no players left by the end. That would be because I'm an idiot...
Try orcs Haures. Boring, dependable, good all round, surprisingly good passing game once you get accurate, strong arm and a 4ag blitzer, which never seems to take long.
Good start for the Harlequins, might have gotten another score and maybe a cas or two but happy with the win (was 1-0 up at end of 1st half, and a couple of cas) and the cash which buys an apo, and a good chunk towards the next all important reroll. These days I seem to burn through them in the first few turns. Not sure if that's the dice or because I'm crap.
Bit of both I expect :)”
