“one of my worst plays ever in a while....
right away i presented a big opening unfortunatly my opponent didn't manage to exploit it....
then I managed a nice stall till turn 8 using a unbreakable double line of defense without even doing a single dieroll.... smallman then killed a player and hit another to mng in turn8 and made a 1 turn score....
half two i was down to 10 men and got two more players cas'd in turn 1 of second half, leaving we with effective 8....
my first action was to use two players to successfully knock his ballcarrier down....
he suddenly was confronted with bad weather and already consumed his single reroll there was a significant chance his pickup would fail.... evenetually he ordered his players back piece by piece to give the ballcarrier maximum protection....
it didn't help I got a shot on the ball almost every turn but unfortunatly got little luck.... since i had much less players and also needed to keep my own half secured he was very big in numerical advantage and faster aswell....
in turn 11 or so he was almost at his td line and I placed a sidestepper directly at it set an assist to finally knock him down.... sourrunded by players i would have to do a 3+ dodge for the actual blitz wich i succeeded in but then failed on snakes with the second dodge....
this opend another opportunity.... the sidestepper all alone would attrackt smallman to crowdpush him, enforcing him to use up six of his players to surround him and eventually lose a turn..... as anticipated he took his chances and eleminated the thread and lost the turn in the process....
and here was were I started messing up.... with only 3 turns left and all his players at the end of his field he still had a good shot due to the enourmus speed of his catchers... of course he would have to do a catch eventually..... this was the first turn i didnt attack and instead build a wall.... but that was a very wrong move since he could sourround it without even losing in speed due to the lack of my players....
eventually he did outrun me at the side, leaving his ballcarrier directly at the sideline...i knew i was too slow and he was to agile to really get in his way anyways.... with or without rerolls.... so i figured my best chances were to go again on the ballcarrier....
with him being at the sideline an opportunity to crowd him had prestented but it would need risky dodges.
first i would have to place an assist because a player was directly above the BC.... there was either a way to run 8 squares doing 2 gfi and about 4 2+ dodges or two 3+ dodges and no gfi....
I had the dodge skill and i didnt really want to use RR on that because i had to succeed in the actual blitz aswell, so i decided to go for the two 3+ dodges and not risk any RR.... unfortunatly i messed up a second time and mistakenly made a 4+ dodge in two tacklezones... again apparently without consequences.... but then with a another snakeeyes failed on the final act....
now i was in big trouble... my opponent was far ahead of me, he did the handoff to the catcher... put him in a save protected sphere and the time was almost out....
after counting all possibilties i finally discoverd an opening to blitz the catcher by recklessy chasing after him with my st4 blitzer.... I would have to use all my movement and finally dodge into two tacklezones but due to the fact he was only st2+ I could ignore the assist and 2d block the BZ .... after several risky dodges i finally succeeded AND.... made my third mistake..... my last player.... was out of scoring range.....
my opponent failed to recover the ball again.... it was free and easy to pass but without anyone able to score it ended with a shamefull and avoidable 1:1 ... ”
