“The inaugural match of the NCBB pits Rutgers against the University of Nevada.
Things start off normally, but in mid-half, a thunderous block de-cleats Vai Taua and sends him crashing to the pitch. He lands head-first, and suffers irrepairable brain loss. He is pronounced dead on the field. A moment was given, and Nevada went to pounding away in honor of their fallen classmate.
The same turn, a human attempts to skitter away from Brad Langley, but is tripped up. He suffers the same fate as Taua, but the Rutgers training staff was far more prepared than that of Nevada. He was patched up, and kept on the field.
Two different longbeards manage to hold the ball, only to be knocked to the ground. Late in the 1st, the ball bounced away from the scrum insuing in the middle of the pitch. Mo Harvey saw it, and made an attempt, only to have it slip through his fingers. There would be a chance at redemption, however, as the next block from the humans was forcefully repelled by a longbeard. Harvey "scooped it up", and darted off for the corner of the endzone. 1-0 Nevada at the end of the first.
The 2nd half began with a bone-shattering block by Mike Bethea, sending a blitzer to the sidelines for medical treatment. The favor was returned however by another blitzer lining up Jonathan Amaya for a spine-cracking shot, removing him from play. Hunter Lightning, the Rutgers QB was surrounded, and eventually stripped of the ball. Nevada swarmed, but left a lineman free deep in Nevada territory. Lightning managed to pop out with the ball and make a desperate throw, only to have it bounce short of his target. From there, Nevada surrounded the ball and wouldn't let it out of their grasp. The final gun sounded, and Nevada came away with a 1-0 win over a tight and well-coached Rutgers squad.”
